Role Description

Strategy isn’t a slide deck at Orius — it’s a decision framework that shapes what we build, how we grow client revenue, and why clients stay.

This role sits at the centre of that. You’ll be the strategic brain on accounts, owning the full arc from discovery and roadmap through to CRO, experimentation, and measurable performance. You’ll work directly with the Account Manager & UI UX Designer across Shopify eCommerce clients — leading discovery sessions, setting growth strategy, designing and running A/B tests, and translating data into decisions.

You won’t hand off to an analyst or a separate strategist. You own the outcome end-to-end, and you present it to the client.

 

What You’ll Own

Discovery & Strategy

Lead discovery sessions with clients. Translate business objectives into eCommerce growth roadmaps. Define what we build and in what order — and defend that thinking in the room.

CRO & Experimentation

Build the test hypothesis, coordinate execution with the development team, analyse results, and roll out winners. Maintain a consistent test velocity of 2+ experiments per client per month on active CRO retainers.

Analytics & Insight

Own GA4, Shopify Analytics, and client reporting. Identify what the data is saying before the client notices. Build dashboards that surface the right signals — not just traffic and revenue.

Client Advisory

Be the senior strategic voice on accounts. Present monthly, run quarterly roadmap reviews, and identify growth opportunities that become the basis for retainer expansions and upsells.

What You’ll Do

Strategy & Research

  • Conduct comprehensive website audits covering UX, performance, conversion, SEO, and technical health — and translate findings into a prioritised opportunity roadmap
  • Lead structured discovery workshops with client stakeholders to surface business objectives, platform constraints, and growth opportunities
  • Develop detailed customer personas using first-party data, enriched with behavioural and demographic insight, to inform UX, content strategy, and merchandising decisions
  • Conduct competitive audits — systematically evaluate competitor and industry-leader digital experiences across UX, features, content, and technology to identify gaps and differentiation opportunities
  • Carry out market, customer, and competitive research that reveals where a client’s brand stands today and where it can win
  • Facilitate guided ideation sessions with client stakeholders to align on priorities, generate solutions, and build consensus on strategic direction
  • Define clear business objectives and measurable KPIs with clients before any project begins — aligning leadership, marketing, and technology teams around shared success metrics
  • Build and maintain phased eCommerce growth roadmaps per client, sequenced by business impact and implementation effort, with dependency mapping and near-term to long-term continuity

 

CRO & Personalisation

  • Design, run, and analyse A/B tests and multivariate experiments across the full conversion funnel — from landing pages and PDPs through to checkout
  • Develop and implement on-site personalisation strategies that deliver dynamic content, product recommendations, and tailored experiences based on customer segment, behaviour, and lifecycle stage
  • Build and maintain an ongoing experimentation programme for CRO retainer clients — managing test velocity, documenting learnings, and rolling out winners
  • Develop omnichannel CX strategies that align email, SMS, on-site, in-store, and paid channels into a unified customer experience framework

 

Analytics & Data

  • Implement and maintain GA4 and Google Tag Manager for Shopify storefronts — covering ecommerce event tracking, enhanced measurement, custom dimensions, conversion goals, and Elevar integration
  • Analyse behavioural data — clickstreams, session recordings, heatmaps, and funnel data — to identify friction points, engagement patterns, and conversion opportunities
  • Design, deploy, and analyse customer surveys to surface qualitative insight on motivations, barriers, and satisfaction — integrated with quantitative data for a complete picture
  • Build and maintain custom performance dashboards in Looker Studio or equivalent — surfacing the right metrics for each stakeholder, from executive revenue views to granular page-level data
  • Support customer data enrichment initiatives — working with first-party data appended with third-party demographic and behavioural data to improve segmentation and personalisation

 

New Business Support

  • Contribute strategic depth to Orius proposals — help the MD demonstrate a credible, structured approach to growth in pitches
  • Present and defend strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders and founders independently

Requirements

  • You have 3–6 years in eCommerce strategy, digital consulting, or CRO — ideally in an agency or Shopify-adjacent environment
  • You’ve run A/B tests end-to-end — not just interpreted someone else’s results. You understand statistical significance and know how to brief a developer on what to build for a test
  • You’ve conducted website audits, UX reviews, and competitive analyses and turned them into prioritised, actionable roadmaps
  • You’re comfortable in GA4, Google Tag Manager, Shopify Analytics, and at least one dashboard tool such as Looker Studio
  • You’ve built or maintained customer personas using real data — not templates
  • You’ve presented strategy to senior stakeholders or founders and can defend a recommendation under pressure
  • You understand Shopify as a platform — not just as a merchant, but as someone who knows what’s technically possible and what isn’t
  • You can hold 3+ client accounts simultaneously without dropping quality on any of them
  • You write and present clearly in both Bahasa Malaysia and English

 

Good to have:

  • Experience with Shopify Plus specifically — flows, B2B, Markets, or Checkout Extensions
  • Hands-on experience with VWO, Optimizely, Shoplift, or Convert or any CRO tools
  • Familiarity with Klaviyo and how lifecycle marketing data feeds into broader eCommerce strategy
  • Experience with on-site personalisation tools such as Nosto, Rebuy, or LimeSpot (Or similar)
  • SEO & AEO literacy — enough to factor organic performance into growth recommendations
  • Experience working across fashion, beauty, F&B, or lifestyle DTC brands
