Orius is looking for an experienced Project Manager to bring digital projects (UI UX, Website build, eCommerce, Web App) projects to life from discovery to delivery of the final product. You will work closely with clients to bring their project vision from conception to reality, delivering world-class design, strategy, and development in the shape of high-performing applications.

You will be responsible for the planning, managing, organizing, and controlling of several projects at a time. You will be the gatekeeper to change requests, warden of scope, and chief of client communications. When talking with clients you must be firm but fair whilst ensuring that developers & designers have the necessary materials & direction to meet their goals and deadlines.

The Role

You’re an experienced PM with a digital mindset and experience in a creative/technical agency, who is used to working in close collaboration with Clients, Brands & Cross-Discipline Teams. You are pragmatic, a natural problem solver, a clear communicator, adaptive, and will relish the opportunity to be a part of a new and exciting team. Naturally, you’ll bring all the skills a great PM has in their toolkit, so organizational, listening, negotiating, time & budget skills management are essential for the role.

  • You’ll have a high level of proficiency in one or more of the many project management tools on the market and in other tools such as Sheet, slack, keynote, Clickup/Jira, etc. Where you have identified a skill gap you are or have engaged in learning to improve in that area.
  • You have an understanding of eCommerce & digital trends and best practices within the industry. You’re also keen to expand this knowledge through both on-the-job and self-directed learning.
  • Creative & Technically minded – we don’t expect you to know how to code, but you must be comfortable understanding CMS development, third-party integrations, front end technologies.
  • Client facing – running meetings /status/workshops and guiding meetings to ensure objectives are met, strong client communications is a must.

What You’ll Do

  • Create necessary project documentation such as the project charter and project timeline.
  • Plan, architect, and execute project management/development staying within project requirements, budget, and timeframes.
  • Confirm and detail scope and requirements for requests, working with internal teams to accurately quote timelines and budget to clients.
  • Provide thoughtful and in-depth client-facing burn reports with an eye to overall resource utilization and budget tracking
  • Create and maintain timelines, and required documentation for each stage of projects.
  • Maintain contact with client to ensure proper communication of expectations and deliverables.
  • Utilize PM software for all project management software needs.
  • Extract, review, and approve your project monthly retainer hours reports for all clients.
  • Ensure projects are properly completed by maintaining ongoing contact with all stakeholders.
  • Work with all departments to help gather company resources needs and fairly allocate resources.
  • Kick off projects and tasks to internal resources concisely and efficiently. Track, estimate, and record hours of work for each project in the project management time tracking system. 
  • Pull budget analyses for your projects regularly to provide ongoing margin and profitability reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strive to provide knowledge and deliver service that exceeds client expectations.
  • Contribute creative and innovative ideas; gather insights, facts and data to enrich the planning and creative processes for the client and internal teams.

 

  • Conduct internal and client meetings to discuss project progress and to ensure that objectives are understood and achieved, establishing team rapport.
  • Providing weekly project reports for both the clients and upper management.
  • Accountable for the project scope, time, cost, risk, quality, communication, procurement, and workforce.
  • Actively learn and develop your skills and work toward helping to coach junior team members.
  • Handling change requests & being able to push back on clients when their requests may be endangering the project’s timeline or budget.
  • Coordination of project team and sub-team activities.
  • Contribute to internal projects and planning discussions.
  • Develop documentation for standards and workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Managers and Strategists to define, plan, and execute projects.
  • Run project tasks through each sprint and update the team each morning at stand up.
  • You’ll be highly organized, already using a task management system to capture and prioritize tasks. You understand that working in a reactive way to email or other inputs is not effective.
  • Review and research add-on items and technical issues that the client currently faces to ideate potential solutions
  • Ensure smooth QA, UAT and Go Live processes.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of agency or client service experience
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle process.
  • Excellent English written & verbal communication & presentation skills
  • Interest & willingness to manage a team of designers & developers.
  • Strong self-management practices with attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and remain calm under pressure.

Bonus

  • Shopify & Shopify Plus experience.
  • Certification in project management (PMP and/or SCRUM Master).
  • Capacity to set clear objectives, measure progress, and achieve results.
  • An understanding of the greater eCommerce ecosystem, especially the operational cycle and what happens behind the scenes from the moment a consumer clicks “order” to that package arriving at his/her doorstep
